getting started
Before you start your lessons you must be 17 years old and hold a provisional driving license for the vehicle you will be driving. You need to complete a D1 form which you can get from your local Post Office. You must then send this form to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), or you can apply online. Only then can you start lessons and take your theory test.
YOUR HEALTH:
You must be medically fit to drive and be able to read (with glasses or contact lenses if you wear them) a number plate from a distance of 20.5 meters (67 feet). Do not drive if you are tired, unwell, or if you are taking any medication which may affect your ability and awareness. Contact your doctor if necessary.
